Meet Tina at Tbilisi’s Dezerter Bazaar, choose fresh ingredients, then cook two or three Georgian dishes in her family home near Tbilisi Mall. Expect khachapuri, khinkali, chakhokhbili, seasonal sweets, and one or two glasses of local alcohol in a private, English-language setting.

“This was a unique experience! It was a rather unstructured, chaotic sort of evening. The host is Tina and the website needs updating as the pictures and description refer to her daughter Teo, who hasn't been running the event for several years. We basically sat in Tina's kitchen as she cooked huge quantities of Georgian food. We liked meeting her family and she was a lovely lady.”

Join Paul from Meet Me Here for a five-and-a-half-hour private food tour through Tbilisi’s Dezerter’s Bazaar. Meet vendors, taste Georgian breads, sauces, cheeses, and seasonal dishes, then sit down for regional food and an artisanal wine tasting.

“I can’t thank Paul enough for his authentic introduction to the food and culture of Georgia. His encyclopedia of knowledge and vast network offered a unique opportunity to experience the tastes, smells, and history of food directly from the source. Smiles, laughter, and many celebratory toasts of wine and chacha filled the day. I retuned home with wonderful memories and a desire to return to Tbilisi!”

This 3-hour English walking tour links Liberty Square, Orbeliani’s Christmas bazaar, Bazari food hall, and Rustaveli Avenue. Expect about 3.5 km of walking, festive lights, Georgian snacks, local food, and a small group of up to 10 people. Ask whether Oksana is guiding your date.

“Couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Oksana who showed everything patiently for us. At the time of our arrival in Georgia, protests were going on, but she ensured this at we are all safe and stayed with us until we caught a cab back to our hotel. Oksana was cheerful and extremely knowledgeable about the entire tour. Highly recommend experiencing this in December. So lucky to have been in a place like this during Christmas season”
